I prefer to work from life as much as possible - using primarily sketches or any photographs that I have taken myself. If you are local to The New Forest I can come to you in order to take photographs or to sketch. If a home visit is not possible then when sending photographs that you have please ensure that they are of a good quality and as high a resolution as possible.
Photographic Tips
-
The best photos are taken outdoors in natural light, back to the sun, close up and sharp. Avoid unnatural angles (such as the dog staring up at a camera above their head).
-
Try also to avoid a really sunny day or very overcast day as the photograph may then distort the true colour of their coat.
-
The best are those taken on a level with the dog's head.
-
If it's a small dog place them on a chair so you can get level with them.
-
Please supply several images so I can have a choice and create the best artwork of your dog or dogs. You can email or post them to me.

Soft Pastel
The pastel paintings will be full colour on a top quality, acid free pastel card. If you have a dog with a soft "fluffy" coat such as a Cockapoo or Maltese then pastels are a particularly effective medium, although pastels are just as good for smooth coated dogs.
They will come in a plain frame with mount.
